Halt is a tall, well-built man. He has a slightly darker complexion than the typical Myrthanese from the center of the country. He has a distinctive square jaw and raven-black, short hair. He usually wears his magnate's kaftan, or plate armor with a red rose on his chest, symbolizing his devotion to the Kingdom of Myrthana.
Personality
Demanding and strict as a leader. A ruthless and cynical politician. He is willing to do anything to achieve his goal, even if it meant sending his people to certain death. He doesn't mince his words, he is violent and doesn't hesitate to reach for vocabulary that some wouldn't pass by. He is extremely law-abiding, and there are rumors that the skeleton hanging on the gallows in the inner ring belongs to a crayfish fisherman who did not pay taxes according to the laws in force on Khorinis.
Abilities
He has mastered the use of a two-handed sword to perfection, and he is no stranger to fighting with one-handed weapons either. He has had a crossbow or bow in his hands several times in his life. He is extremely strong, and because of his many years at the royal court, he is able to use diplomatic language to wriggle out of a situation that is unfavorable to him.
History
Halt comes from the Carnegie family, one of Vengard's wealthiest noble families. In his youth, he received instruction from the most distinguished masters and sages of all Myrthana, and upon reaching the age of 23 he began working as an aide to the court diplomat of King Rhobar II. A dozen years later, he took over this office and began to establish himself in the royal court. Not everyone in Vengard, however, was comfortable with this. His opponents were just waiting for a convenient opportunity to get rid of Halt. Luckily for his opponents, a prisoner revolt broke out in the Mining Valley. During a meeting with the king, the corrupt nobility almost unanimously put forward Halt's candidacy for expedition commander. The king, unaware of the conspiracy against the young Carnegie, decided to entrust him with the task of quelling the unrest in the Valley and restoring order there. Halt was aware that the courtiers wanted to get rid of a rival who could threaten any of them. He vowed to drown the prisoners' rebellions in blood, to show the king that he was worth more than all the Vengard magnates put together. The journey took several weeks, and its destination was a fortress located in the center of the Mountain Valley - Fot Ashbourne, from where he was to command the King's Emissaries from now on. His goal was one - to slaughter the rebellion, restore order in the Minerva Valley and take revenge on the people who had sent him here.
