History

Chapter I - Something is beginning

Nordmar. Although spring had arrived, the chill persisted in a small, not very populated village in the east. This village, despite the war with the orcs, had not yet been conquered, as it was not attacked by large troops of orcs, and the warriors bravely resisted single groups of orcs. It was there, in a small wooden house that Cysiex was born. His father was a warrior and his mother was an herbalist. Cysiex showed interest in both his father's and his mother's specialties after he turned 3. He slowly began to absorb the basics of herbalism and the basics of weapon combat. His father was only able to train him in one-handed weapon combat, however, until he was 8 years old he only taught him theory and showed him basic sequences. Only when he reached the right age did his father decide to train him already in practice:

-Son, the time has come. You may still be a small child, but I think you're ready for practical training," his father said to Cysiex. -That's great, father," said Cysiex enthusiastically. I promise I won't let you down. -I know that. I have high hopes for you. But enough talk. Let's start training.

Cysiex trained for several hours each day. He spent the following hours with his mother listening about plants and helping her prepare medicine. And so on every day until a certain event. It was a rainy autumn evening at the time. Cysiex was already 16 at the time. Despite the rain, he continued to train outside. Suddenly a messenger came running into the house:

-Fast! Tragedy is coming, you must flee! -shouted the messenger running into the property -Speak. What happened?" asked the astonished Cysiex. -O-o-orcs. They are coming. Our warriors are holding them back but they told me to come here and tell everyone to evacuate. -Warriors? Is my father there? -He was. But... unfortunately... -You don't have to finish- Cysiex interrupted him. We evacuate from here immediately. At that moment the sound of drums resounded. It was the orcs. They unleashed a troop of warriors and entered the village. Cysiex immediately ran to his mother. -Mother: we must flee. The orcs have arrived. -What do you mean, what about your father?" his mother asked. -He... fell-he answered her sadly.

Cysiex's mother began to cry. Cysiex wanted to comfort her but knew that if they stayed here a while longer, the orcs would come, and he was too weak to defeat them. He grabbed his mother's hand and led her out of the house. They started running toward the forest, where they could find shelter. One orc spotted them and began to chase them with an axe raised upwards. Cysiex's mother stumbled and fell. Before Cysiex could react, the orc already had the axe stabbed into his mother's body. Cysiex became enraged. He saw the sword lying on the ground. He picked it up and threw himself at the orc with rage. The orc failed to block the blow and ended up miserably. Cysiex, in a frenzy, cut off all his limbs and chopped his corpse into pieces. He shook himself off and looked at his mother's corpse and, with tears in his eyes, fled into the forest. And so began his several-year wandering.

Chapter II - Start of wandering

Cysiex found a cave in the middle of the forest where he took refuge. He was still thinking about what had happened in the village. Nadal had the image of his mother cut by an orc axe in his eyes. Disregarding whether the orcs would find him or not, the boy lay down and went to sleep. The next day, fortunately, he got up whole and healthy. Calmer, but still shattered, he decided to look for food. First, however, he went to a nearby lake to wash and refresh himself. After bathing, he went into the forest to look for food. To his surprise, he came across a flock of sheep that must have fled the village. Cysiex led some sheep to a cave and killed them. He deposited the meat on the skin of one of them. He lit a fire and prepared the meal. After eating it, he decided to do something that no one in his right mind would undertake. He decided to go to the battlefield and retrieve his father's sword. Avoiding the village from afar, he arrived at the battlefield. To his misfortune, two orcs were hanging around the corpses of the fallen. Cysiex knew that a direct clash with two orcs was too much for him and decided to eliminate one quietly. He picked up a stone and threw it a few meters away. One of the orcs heard the impact of the stone and came up to check what the sound was. At that moment Cysiex sneaked up from the back and slit the orc's throat. With only one opponent, the boy threw himself directly at him. The battlefield was far from the village, so the lone orc could not call for support. The mighty orc could not keep up with the fast user of the one-handed sword and quickly failed. Cysiex threw the sword aside and began searching for his father's blade. Finally, among the carcasses, he found the distinctive blade. He did not know runic script, so he could not read the inscription on the blade. Cysiex strapped the sword to his belt, took the dagger and bag from the nearby corpses and returned safely to the cave. He stayed there for several days, after which he decided what he would do from now on. And so he became a hermit wandering the world. He rarely appeared near villages or towns. He left his hometown in an attempt to forget what happened there.

Chapter III - The next stage of the adventure. Journey to Khorinis.

Six years have passed since the events in the last human village of Nordmar. Cysiex who is now 22 years old is now approaching Vengard. He has changed since the recent events. He has become a sarcastic warrior, cut off from civilization. He only once visited the city, where he spent all the money he gained on a masterpiece of armor-making. Armor made of the finest steel and magical ore. The lightweight yet tough armor protected his body from attacks. On top of that, he always walked in a long black cloak with a hood. As for the use of one-handed weapons, he was already one of the masters of fighting with this type of weapon. In the forest he still found a bow and a quiver with arrows. With such a set of weapons, new armor and skills, he entered Vengard to have a decent drink of beer in an inn. Walking through the streets of the city, he finally came across an inn, entered it and immediately approached the bartender:

-Please have a pint of the best beer. -Our customer is our master. I guess that you to the ship?" replied the innkeeper -The ship? What ship?" asked the curious traveler. -A ship. It takes people to Khorinis. There are too many orcs in the city. They will probably push people from here to the port soon. The king and others surrounded by the barrier are safe. -Khorinis... where is it? -In the east. Khorinis is the island where the Mining Valley is located. There are the largest reserves of magical ore in the entire...

The innkeeper did not finish. Screams could be heard outside. Cysiex went outside. To his eyes appeared a gigantic fire spreading through the surrounding buildings. An idea popped into the traveler's head, "Hmm. Khorinis is not such a bad option. I've never been there. A trip there might be interesting." The thought didn't last long. Cysiex immediately ran to the port. The ship was already departing. Unfortunately, the entrance was blocked by guards. That didn't stop Cysiex. He nimbly dodged the guards and, jumping over the tiny gap between the departing ship and the port, landed on the deck. He calmly sat down leaning against the wall:

-What a clever thing to do,‖ the traveler heard. He turned around and saw the magician sitting next to him. -I haven't seen such a thing in a long time. Who are you? -A loner. I travel, mostly in the forests. -Mhm. So you are moving to Khorinis? The next stage of the adventure? -Exactly- replied Cysiex. And who are you? -Myself- smiled the mage. I'm just an ordinary common mage. I am not sailing to Khorinis. Just this ship is still sailing to the Southern Islands. There my destination. -Far enough- replied the loner. I wish you good luck. -Thank you. The mage was silent for a moment, and handed Cysiex a scroll. -This is the incantation of a certain spell. It summons a fire that illuminates the area around the user. Would you like to learn it?

Cysiex thought about it then nodded his head. The entire trip to Khorinis he had been learning this one simple spell under the mage's tutelage. When the ship docked on Khorinis, Cysiex said goodbye to the mage, thanked him for teaching him such a useful spell and stood on a completely new land. A land where he would experience great adventure and meet new people.

He participated in the recapture of the city and the overthrow of Lazir, and killed the self-proclaimed "King of the Island," ending the Lazir War.
