Rodion is a well-built man, measuring a little over three cubits. His skin is very light in color, as is his shoulder-length hair. Against his milky complexion, his dark eyelids surrounding his black eyes and several days of stubble stand out. He also has two small scars above his left eyebrow arch.
Personality
Usually cold and distrustful. He does not recognize values such as honor or pride. Despite his disposition towards the world, he is not aggressive, or at least does not show it.
Abilities
He is quite proficient with one-handed weapons and bows. His greatest assets are his dexterity and quick reaction time, so fighting with light swords comes easily to him, as does stealing or opening locks. In addition, he is very familiar with tracking and binding game, as well as herbalism, particularly medicinal plants.
History
One rainy night, an old medicine man living in a small village heard a baby crying outside his home. He sprang to his feet and, upon opening the door, saw a black-haired infant lying at the threshold wrapped in several blankets. Surprised, the doctor took it inside and placed it on the table. Between the pieces of cloth in which the baby was wrapped, he found a piece of paper with "Rodion" written on it, as well as some valuables. The old altruist, who had sworn after his service in the army to help others, decided to take care of the little one and raise him. The settlement where the foster son of the medicine man Callihan grew up was located by an old log cabin, far from other communities. The medicine man, from childhood, taught the young Rodion herbalism and gunfighting, so that in the future he would be able to protect the village from attackers from other principalities, since through the economic fraud of the count from the capital, other counties were ready for an armed invasion. Unbeknownst to them, people living on the edge of the county were making a living by farming and trading animal trophies, until a huge explosion occurred in the forest near the village. Sorcerers spurned by the Mages Guild attempted to open a portal to the realm of Beliar there, using a corrupt crystal stolen from the town's monastery. Through improper preparation for the ritual, the priests produced a powerful explosion of mana that created a crater in the middle of the wilderness. Radiation of black magic reached several settlements within a radius of tens of kilometers, completely changing the landscape. People who were irradiated died after a few days, as if affected by a dark curse. After a week in the village, only children were left on the border, as for unknown reasons the disease was not fatal to them, but only changed their bodies. Some youngsters possessed various magical or psychic abilities. In Rodion's case, as a result of the radiation, his skin turned a light color, as did his hair, and his eyelids darkened. The young Callihan also noticed a significant change in his reaction time, to various external stimuli. Since then, people from villages near the capital city and the capital itself stopped trading with the radiation-affected settlements, began to avoid the children there and even mocked them, calling them dirty or cursed. When tax collections came with the end of the month, the worst performing guards were sent to the local areas as punishment for their misdeeds, or insubordination. The collectors often abused children and even killed them when they had nothing with which to pay the tribute owed to the count. That's when a group from Rodion's village decided to form a resistance movement. Having grown up hating the county, they began to train in the use of weapons and develop their newly acquired magic skills to oppose the guards.
