	~~He was charged with starting a mass fire in the slums of~~ [[Vengard]], ~~one that spread to the suburbia and took many a life~~. ~~The fire was meant to be~~ a ~~controlled one~~, ~~aimed at the hovel of a peasant who had attempted to attack him the day before~~... ~~However,~~ Capaneus ~~was drunk~~ (~~and most likely high~~) ~~when he made this decision~~, ~~and his~~ plan ~~did not turn out so well~~ - ~~Consequently~~, ~~he was caught~~, ~~tied up and taken to the Militia for questioning. After a full-blown riot broke out demanding his head~~, ~~only his father's (formerly) vast treasury~~, ~~a large part of which was now completely dedicated to rebuilding and 'appeasing' the families of the affected~~, ~~was able to save him from the horde~~... ~~And so, he was thrown into the Valley of Mines~~ - ~~Mere days before its destruction, however~~. ~~He barely managed to escape its timely collapse with his life~~, ~~his only hope at survival from then on being to join~~ a ~~gang of bandits situated on the island of~~ Khorinis.		Został oskarżony o wzniecenie masowego pożaru w slumsach [[Vengard]]u, który rozprzestrzenił się na przedmieścia i pochłonął wiele istnień. Pożar miał być kontrolowany, a jego celem miała być rudera wieśniaka, który dzień wcześniej próbował go zaatakować... Jednak Capaneus był pijany (i najprawdopodobniej naćpany), gdy podejmował tę decyzję, a jego plan nie wyszedł zbyt dobrze - w rezultacie został złapany, związany i zabrany na przesłuchanie do Milicji. Po tym, jak wybuchły zamieszki domagające się jego głowy, tylko ogromny skarbiec jego ojca, którego znaczna część była teraz w całości przeznaczona na odbudowę i „uspokojenie” rodzin poszkodowanych, był w stanie uratować go przed hordą... I tak został wrzucony do Koloni Karnej w Khorinis - Górniczej Doliny - zaledwie kilka dni przed zniszczeniem magicznej Bariery. Ledwo udało mu się ujść z życiem z jej terminowego upadku, a jego jedyną nadzieją na przetrwanie od tego momentu było dołączenie do bandy bandytów znajdujących się na wyspie Khorinis.
